With an indomitable spirit and an insatiable thirst for growth, DePaul stands at the helm of BoomZeal Enterprises, a local Long Island, NY, organization taking emergency services by storm – poised to leave an indelible mark on the business landscape.

Early Life and Formative Years: Born and raised in Staten Island and now located on Long Island, NY, Phil was raised in an environment of hard work, resilience, and nurtured curiosity. Displaying signs of an entrepreneurial spirit from a young age, he exhibited a fascination with competition powered by an internal drive to go deep, starting with a successful e-commerce website from 1998-2004. The subject matter? Professional wrestling, of course. He remains proud of the backyard wrestling federation he founded and televised while in high school, as it was where passion and vision combined to create his first brainchild.

Education and Foundation: Driven by a thirst for knowledge, Phil pursued his academic journey with unwavering determination. DePaul earned his Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Wagner College, but minors in mathematics and economics spoke more to his natural talents. If you ask him though, Phil likes to say he earned his “MBA” by working, without boundaries, inside of someone else’s business. A penchant for self-development and learning lessons both directly and through the failures and triumphs of others has been his rocket fuel.

Early Career and Breakthrough: The seeds of DePaul’s career were sown during his early professional years. Starting as a mere part-time Data Entry assistant at Coastal Plumbing Supply, he blazed his own trail during a lengthy 14-year tenure there, as a driving force behind expansion from 2 locations to 5, culminating in the rebrand of “Coastal Supply Group” as Vice President of Strategic Development until his departure in 2015. Through trial and error, he standardized procedures, implemented software upgrades, increased gross profits, and essentially transformed the culture of a small family-owned company into a modern tri-state area distributor. His astounding achievements led him to then play the role of Deputy Program Manager of Construction for The LiRo Group, representing the NYS Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery until 2019. By listening first and leading from the front, he effectively helped coach, organize, and motivate a staff of hundreds of variably skilled professionals into collaborative teams toward a common goal.

Entrepreneurial Ventures: Driven by a relentless desire to shape his own destiny, Phil officially ventured into the realm of entrepreneurship by jumping in as the 9th franchisee of United Water Restoration Group in 2019 – with no prior experience. Less than three years later, DePaul expanded via his own remodeling company, United Shield Contracting Corp., in early 2022, followed by the acquisition of local service provider ‘Low Price Junk Removal‘ later that summer. His latest venture, the Long Island franchise of 1-Tom-Plumber, just launched in the spring of 2023. The amalgamation of all four of these entities comprises the heart and soul of BoomZeal Enterprises, a full-service ecosystem designed to help clients through as many phases of residential or commercial property management.

Should a client find themselves in a situation where they have a clogged drain that leads to a backup and water damage, BZE is here to save the day! The plumbing issue will be solved by 1-Tom-Plumber, the water damage and demolition will be handled by United Water Restoration Group, the handling of affected and unaffected contents is secured by Low Price Junk Removal, and the full rebuild will be under the direction of United Shield Contracting Corp.

Less than nine months after DePaul’s purchase of UWRGLI, the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Pivoting the company’s focus to provide disinfecting and anti-viral cleaning services to essential businesses, Phil guided his team through tumultuous waters, ultimately ushering it to a remarkable benchmark of how many clients were able to be helped, solidifying his reputation as a visionary leader. This shift offered him an early framework of just how many ways there are to provide valued services in the “home improvement” sector.

When families were devastated and displaced by Hurricane Ian in Fall 2022, Phil and some UWRG troops rolled south to Daytona Beach, FL, where the Long Island team spent over a month helping those in need.

Legacy and Future Horizons: Never afraid to chase the next opportunity, DePaul now possesses a clearer vision of the focused effort required to reach the next level for BoomZeal. As Phil continues to navigate the limitless entrepreneurial landscape, he remains steadfast in pursuit of excellence. To understand his motivations, one need not look further than the BoomZeal core values: being accountable, solution-oriented, resilient, collaborative, and dynamic. He operates with unwavering resolve to do whatever must be done to produce the best long-term outcomes. DePaul attributes success to honest effort and the sheer will to never settle for “good enough” with anything he touches. As both a teacher and voracious student, he is determined to learn from and inspire his growing “tribe” while continuously raising the bar on what’s possible together.
