Early Life and Formative Years
Born and raised in Staten Island, NY, and now residing on Long Island, DePaul grew up in an environment emphasizing hard work, resilience, and curiosity. From a young age, he exhibited an entrepreneurial spirit. He was fascinated with competition powered by an internal desire to go deep. It all began with a successful e-commerce website from 1998-2004. The subject matter? Professional wrestling! He takes great pride in the backyard wrestling federation he founded and televised in high school, where his passion and vision came together to form his first brainchild.
DePaul earned his bachelor’s degree in computer science from Wagner College. However, his minors in mathematics and economics reflect his natural talents more accurately. His passion for self-development and learning from his own experiences and the successes and failures of others has fueled his growth. DePaul is deeply committed to self-improvement and actively seeks out growth opportunities.
Early Career and Breakthrough
DePaul’s career began with a part-time data entry position at Coastal Plumbing Supply. Over 14 years, he steadily advanced, becoming a key figure in the company’s expansion from two to five locations. His leadership culminated in the company’s rebranding to Coastal Supply Group, where he served as vice president of strategic development until his departure in 2015. His outstanding achievements led him to take on the role of deputy program manager of construction for The LiRo Group, representing the New York State Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery until 2019. By listening first and leading from the front, he effectively helped coach, organize, and motivate a staff of hundreds of variably skilled professionals into collaborative teams toward a common goal.
Entrepreneurial Ventures
Summer 2019 – First Step into Entrepreneurship
Fueled by an unwavering determination to forge his path, DePaul officially enters the world of entrepreneurship as the ninth franchisee of United Water Restoration Group, despite having no prior experience.
Spring 2022 – Expanding the Portfolio
DePaul expands his business portfolio by establishing remodeling company, United Shield Contracting Corp.
Summer 2022 – Adding Junk Removal Services
DePaul acquires local service provider Low Price Junk Removal and integrates the brand into its growing service portfolio.
Spring 2023 – 1-Tom-Plumber Arrives on LI
DePaul launches the Long Island franchise of 1-Tom-Plumber.
Early 2024 – Refining Our Focus
United Shield operations shut down to better focus on the core businesses – because you’re either all in or all out. Mediocrity is not an option.
Summer 2025 – A Strategic Transition
After streamlining operations, aligning it with our standards, and serving thousands of Long Island homeowners with affordable junk removal solutions, Low Price Junk Removal transitions to an independent owner. This move enables BoomZeal to sharpen its focus while ensuring the brand continues to serve the community it was built for.
